"A popular government without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy, or perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." (oversat: )
- James Madison, from a letter to W.T. Barry, August 4, 1822 (James Madison var hovedarkitekt bag den amerikanske forfatning; levede 1751-1836)

Welcome to Openness Committee's website. Here you can get help with access. You can also read more about our work to create an open society.

In the left column you can click onto a number of issues where you can read details about the basis for our work who we are, our experiences, our offer of self-help in relation to access, our contribution to the debate in the press and publicity of our work. Below are a number of fields that you can click to gain insight into our ongoing work related to essential issues related society's increasing secrecy. An obscurity which is in sharp contrast to the openness which the politicians have promised the press and citizens MHP. control by the authorities. That was what was promised, since the current offentlighedslov entered into force on 1 January 1987. You'll also read about the Transparency Committee's work to date MHP. to influence society to a greater transparency for example. through influencing legislators.

Currently we are working to form a support association "Transparency Committee friends" who primarily work to support its work. If you already know that it is a job that you want to help to strengthen, so you can contact us by phone, see below Contact us or use aabenhedskomiteen@pc.dk (written without spaces at "@"). We look forward to hearing from you!
